What happens on a dog walk?

Have you ever wondered what I do with your dog on a dog walk?
Let me tell you.
I knock on your door or ring the bell and greet you (if you are home) and your excited dog who is pleased to see me. We have a few seconds of small talk (if you are home) and then off I go with your dog. I may or may not complete a car journey to a nearby location.
I am walking along with your dog but what am I looking out for? What am I thinking?
I look out for hazards like broken glass, random food items, cliff edges that kind of thing. I also look out for other animals and dogs which your dog may react to. If they don't react then great, I praise them and we walk on by. If they do react I may change direction, I may stop and let the other dog and owner by and/or I may offer a tasty high value treat as a distraction if I have caught their reaction before the full behaviour of reaction begins.
I think about many things on a walk including, general life, the dog I am walking, what time it is, where else I could go for a walk, etc.
When the walk comes to an end I drop your dog back home and notify you if you are still out of the house.
