Chaperoning

Animals For Life are very excited to offer a new bespoke service tailored to your Wedding Day. This service is really quite unique. We will work with you to ensure that your pet(s) are ready to be present for your special day.

This day will be full on for your pet(s) so my main job is to ensure their welfare at all times and should I deem it necessary I will take them out of the wedding day buzz for them to process and rest. In-between the Ceremony and photoshoots I will take them for a walk (somewhere non-muddy!) where they can just be themselves and feel safe and rested.

We will work with you leading up to the wedding by forming a relationship with your pet(s) through varied walks and situations ensuring that they can cope in a variety of settings. We can help with training acceptance of any accessories ( for example special collars, bandanas, shirts, leads etc) and ensuring that they can hold their attention and focus.

Prices

£150 for 5 hours on the wedding day + £35 per additional hours thereafter.

All pre-assessment and preparation training will be charged at £30 per hour.

*Please note that basic training (sit, stay, leave and wait) is a requirement for all dogs before using this service and it is at our discretion to evaluate the animals ability to cope in a highly pressured environment. This ensures the safety of all animals involved and the safety of yourself and your guests. We will of course try to work through any problems through the pre-wedding assessments and training. You must be committed to practice the training between sessions. Other animals (cats, small animals, livestock, equines) will be considered on an individual basis and the requests of how they will be included on the day.

Mr & Mrs Marks Wedding - Aloy

Aloy was still a young pup when she took up the honour to be a part of her humans wedding day! Her human Mum (who was a dog trainer) prepped her with training beforehand. However, we did meet up a couple of times so Aloy could become acquainted with me and I could get to know her quirks.
During the day, I walked Aloy around the building both inside and outside before the guests arrived. This included the Ceremony room whilst it was empty - I knew she would be very excited and being only 8 months old, would also need a lot of stimulation and that she would tire easily.
I explained at one point to Mrs Marks that Aloy was overstimulated and needed somewhere to rest before the outside photoshoot in a busy nearby park. She looked at Aloy, agreed and understood. She suggested we went to the Bridal Suite where eventually Aloy napped on my lap. I did not move a muscle during this time as she took some time to unwind enough to nap.

Mr & Mrs Curson Wedding - Sonny and Harlee

It was an honour to be asked by University Friend to Chaperone her two dogs at her wedding. Beforehand we met up on a few walks for me to get to know the young Sonny and Harlee.
They are both high energy dogs who are used to running through fields. On this occasion pre-training had already been done due to Mrs Curson's qualifications.

During the course of the wedding day, I took them on a few mini walks, a couple of longer walks, we sheltered from the rain in the car to ensure they were looking their best for the photoshoot. We also walked around the Reception hall and dancefloor before the guests arrived. This helped them to adjust when guests did start to come in. After the photoshoot, I took them back to the dog friendly hotel room and encouraged them to settle and have nap and offering them their evening meal.

I was invited to the evening celebrations and even though my job was done I ensured that the dogs were still settled and safe throughout the evening.

*Photo to the above right shows Harlee safely secured with a seat belt attachment to her harness. The photo below was not taken by Animals For Life (AFL) but has been used with permission.
